Easter weekend! We had such a great time together! On Saturday we had a super fun Easter Egg Hunt at Grandma and Grandpa's house! Then, Sunday morning we searched the house for our Easter Baskets -- that the Easter Bunny hid! We went to church - it was awesome! After church we went to our neighbors house! They are so sweet to invite us over every year! The kids do a hunt and we have an excellent lunch. Then, my family came over for Easter Dinner! It was so wonderful! And to end the night, my mom and I went to the Stake Center for the Messiah Production! It was so beautiful! I just love Easter! What an incredible time of year to celebrate the birth, life, death and resurrection of our Savior. I know some of you are in Northern States, but here in Texas every thing is growing and blooming and it really just helps me remember how glorious our Lord is and how wonderful it will be when he comes again!

Oh and this is so darling! Baby girl kissing daddy! She is precious!

Make overs!

Kimball is dressed in a handsome pin striped suit vest with Black slacks and a nice, freshly ironed, crisp white shirt! He will look great at church! I loved it! He hated it!
With Abby we decided to try the Leopard print twisty hair curlers. Every young girl needs to experience this at least once in her life! She was a willing candidate and she loved the out come! Bouncy Beautiful Blonde Babe! She sure is growin up! It won't be much longer and she won't want me playing dress up with her either!

I should have just gone back to bed!

Have you ever had just one of those days!! Well, I should have realized it was going to be an interesting day when I caught myself mid sprint running down the trash man - only to notice I was only wearing one sock and my shorts were falling off! Seriously - it was just one of those days I thought, hmmm.... I should start over and try again! Literally like wake up on the other side or something! So, really I was being LAZY - no school for the kids and an opportunity to sleep in. I slept in til 9 or so.... hahaha! And when I woke up I said, "Ok kids, we have lots going on today, but lets start by decorating Easter eggs. Then, we need to get it all cleaned up before we start having friends over and all the other things we have planned!" With that, I heard shrieks and squeals from the kids and then a rumble... a familiar rumble - the trash truck! Oh man, Nathan was out of town and he is the one that usually takes the trash down to the street on Fridays --but no, he wasn't home and I forgot and I just ran out to the garage - got the door up and saw the trash truck already down our street - so I decided right then and there - I was not going to wait a whole 'nother week to get my trash picked up - So I started running - full speed ahead!! My shorts started falling down and I grabbed them and yanked them up mid stride - only to realize I was only wearing one sock! (You see, I have an in grown toenail and it just kills to even have a sock on it, but my feet were cold during the night so - hence the one sock woman) Anyway, that made me realize I was in my pajamas and had messy hair! I just hope none of my neighbors saw me! What a joke! But, guess what! I caught that trash man - just in time! He reversed all the way back to my house and waited for me to get my trash bin out there! The best part --- My little guy Collin ran out to watch this whole display and he started cheering when the trash man dumped our bin in his truck! Then he said, "Yea Mommy! You did it!" He was so stinkin' cute!! Well, I was quite proud of myself and went inside with a little grin on my face!

Ok, but that was just the first 15 minutes or so of being awake -- now for the fun stuff! Motherhood - it is a delight! So, I come back in to the children all ready and eager to make eggs! And I smell a little stinker - yep Tori needs a diaper change! Ok, so I start changing her - you know because she's had a bit of a rash and I just thought I better hurry and change her. There are the wipeees right there and then I will go get a diaper in a second. But you know what - the phone rang! My mother and I were discussing Easter plans while I got her all cleaned up! But I got a little too involved in the conversation and Tori waddled way from me. I am just chatting away when I hear her scream and cry - like she had been hurt - I hopped up and to my surprise, she has something green and gooey all over her hands! I had to do a double take --- is it? NO! could it be? nO! WAIT - yes.... oh my heck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She pooped AGAIN! And this time - no diaper and she was obviously just as surprised because she decided to touch it and figure it out! So, I know - none of my readers probably really want to hear the rest - but I will just say it is amazing how fast she could spread that on all surfaces in a 1 foot radius! That darn stinky baby poo was on my couch, the carpet, the rug, her clothes and last but not least - just as I was picking her up - bam - she had to wipe her tears and there it was on her face! YUCK!!! I was just screaming on the phone to my mom - oh mom it's everywhere! oh.. gosh - this is so gross! I was just like arggh.... and my mother's response - "Oh Kathy, this is going to be funny one day. Just laugh honey! It's ok."
"WHAT? THis will never be funny," I thought to myself!! "No, never funny - good "look what I survived" story but not ever FUNNY!"
Ok, so of course I hung up the phone and got her into the bath tub - all cleaned up, then cleaned up the living room AND it hit me - oh no - the dye for the eggs and a 3 year old boy -- that can never be good!! So, I went to check on that --- really not too bad - but, come on, Easter egg dye with over anxious kids is not what I call exactly the most adorable thing about raising kids. Oh I know I see all of your pictures on your blogs of these perfectly dressed children, making the most adorable crafty little Easter eggs and it is just a little piece of heaven on Earth at your house --well, like I said, it was just more ummm... fun but I couldn't wait for the activity to be over!

Then, oh then, does anyone have a child that LOVES the computer or Wii or game boy or any other electronic device? Well, I have a little one that becomes like an obsessed gremlin. So, we have a little rule that each kid gets 20 minutes of computer a day. That is pretty good I think. So, one of my kids - I won't say who, loves the computer and I must say is pretty stinkin good at it. In fact, I lie and tell him he gets 30 mins when really I let him stay on for like an hour! It keeps him happy, busy and not bothering the sisters! hahaha! But the problem today is that on Club Penguin he got to find all the Easter eggs and win a prize for doing it! He was on the computer from 7 am when he woke up (remember I wanted to sleep in - so I said yeah, just go get on the computer, I'll be up in a little bit!) Well, that kid was on the computer for almost 3 hours this morning! yikes!!! Anyway, I think that is what created the crazy monster inside to start taking over his body. I let him be on it too long ---- and guess what happened next. His sister decided to have her turn - in a possessed voice he commanded her to play a certain game, and when she lovingly replied - ok, I will try it, but if I can't win I wanna play something else. HE growled and said, "arggggggggggggg......... NO!" Then squeezed her arm - as if to say - you will or else!!! So, momma BEAR came out with a bigger growl and scolded him and without thinking to much said - "That's it - no computer for 2 weeks and we need to have a talk!"

So, you want to know what makes this bad --- WHAT THE BEANS am I going to do with this boy for the next 2 weeks??? I guess this will be good! I need to play with him more! I realize that - his sisters go off together, then his littler siblings are too little to really play with - so he kinda gets the middle kid syndrome and feels like he has no one to play with! SO, we played soccer together in the back yard today!! YEA! Looks like I might be doing a lot of that the next 2 weeks!

OK - I think I better stop! No one wants to read a novel -- but hopefully this will be fun to read in like 20 years from now! It turned out to be a good day! BUSY, FUN and hey at least I can really say - I never get bored!! That is a blessing! I love being a mom! It is miraculously very rewarding and peaceful even amongst chaos!

Top 5 Reasons why April is the best month of the year!

5. Because April showers bring May flowers - we have had some great rain storms and beautiful blossoms are blooming!
4. April is a beautiful word - a cute name and even sounds cool in Spanish too!
3. My birthday is in April - along with a lot of other really cool people!
2. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was organized on April 6th
1. This is the glorious month we celebrate the Birth, Life and Ressurection of the Savior - Jesus Christ!

I love April!! Of course because it is my birth month and the birth stone is a diamond - I might add - which is the most beautiful stone and it's shiney and clear and just awesome!

ha ha. So, anyone who reads my blog is about to hear a lot more from me! I hope to write here more often - kind of as a journal type - history for my kids - type thing! I don't think I have ever been a funny writer but I do love to write and tell stories and such. So, I don't think you should come to my blog for entertainment - but maybe more just for hearing about what is happening in our neck of the woods - in Texas!

The greatest thing I have to write about today is my 30th birthday - and the amazing, fun and surprising birthday party my husband and 2 friends threw together for me!! The day started off beautifully - I got breakfast in bed --- almost! I woke up too soon and caught my kids and husband right in the middle of it - I prefer to eat at tables anyway so I just stayed in the kitchen! Such cute kids though - hugging me and wishing me a great day! After the kids got off to school, I got a chance to practice the piano - a birthday wish - because I never seem to get the time! Next, we got out the Easter decorations and did the decorating! Then, for the first surprise - My mother came over and stole me away for a little outing! She took me to a chocolate shop - the most exquisite chocolates I have ever seen or tasted! The shop is called Sublime Chocolates and each little morsel is $2.50 each! Yikes! Super fancy but fun!! I had one that was called Thai Ginger chocolate, another called White Chocolate Coconut and the best one - Carmel with sea salt - super tasty!! OK, so we got back home and my friend Julie offered to watch the little ones so that Nathan could take me out to lunch and down to the church bookstore to buy some presents! That was so thoughtful of her - so we took her up on it and had a great lunch date. The kids came home from school and we all hung out for a little while. Then, Grandma came back over to babysit all the kids so that Nathan and I could go out to dinner with Bryan and Karina Conner. The plan was that when we got home from dinner we would come home and play games with my family - my brothers and sisters and parents! I was excited about all the days events! It was a great day! Dinner was wonderful and we came home - but just as we got onto our street I noticed something peculiar - there were tons of cars on our street - in the cul-de-sac and I happened to recognize several of them!!! HAHAHAHAHA!! I started saying - ummm Nathan is there something you want to tell me! Oh my goodness is this a surprise -- my heart started racing and I got super excited -- -did all my friends really come over?! WOWWOW -- We went in and of course it was all dark and quiet and suddenly everyone shouted SURPRISE!!! It was wonderful and so fun and kind of embarrassing too -- you know with everyone just looking and smiling at you! I was so touched!!! It really meant so much to me!!!!!!! I can't tell you how great it made me feel to see that I had so many friends and family that made the effort to come celebrate for me and with me! I was dreading turning 30! The month of March had been a rather trying time for me and I was kind of down and depressed most of the month - so it was just amazing to see this outpouring of love and friendship and family!!! Even Curt came - which made me feel good! lol! But, anyway, we had a great time! I felt really bad though because we were like 30 minutes later than they expected me!!! OOOPs sorry for that - I hope they had fun without me though! Anyway, my husband is awesome! And my two friends Julie and Melanie - really got it all together and going!! So, they are so great! I am so thankful!!

So, I was just on cloud 9 all weekend! Then, it was Conference weekend! I love Conference!! It was awesome! We also had volleyball and soccer games and Tori ended up being kind of sick - teething and an ear infection - so it was kind of a rough time trying to listen and pay attention! I am looking forward to studying the talks when they come out next month in the Ensign!

And now last of all - today is April 6th! This is like my favorite day of the year! It is a special day for us as members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints!! We actually believe that Jesus Christ was born on this day! So, I just wanted to make a little post today to say how grateful I am for Him and His life! His great love for all of us and the miracle it is that one day we can be with Him again - Forever!! I am so happy and so thankful for all He has done for me!

I love Spring and Easter and the beautiful time of year this is!!! Times are tough, but we are just so blessed to be surrounded by family and friends!!! My kids are doing great and having so much fun learning in school and making friends and trying new things! They have been flying kites the last few days and just love seeing how high they can go! It is awesome to see Daddy out there with the kids making memories!!
